Monaco have been quick to play down Spanish reports that Real Madrid had agreed a deal for their prized asset Kylian Mbappe.
The French champions have made it known that no fee had been agreed with Real, despite sources close to the Spanish club claiming that they had come to agreement over a £160million deal – which would be a world record transfer.
Bookmakers have been quick to react, indeed most suspended the market and are yet to come back – but those that have are very short on Real to do a deal, and OddsMonkey experts believe there could be a real opportunity in this market.
“You look at this market now and Mbappe to join Real is odds-on, for instance Ladbrokes have him at 1/5 – very short indeed,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton said.
“But because of this new Real speculation the chances of him staying put has pushed Monaco’s odds of keeping him out and at 3/1 for him to stay – we can see that being an attractive option for a number of punters indeed.”
