The odds for the Word Cup finals are finally ready after the final few places for Russia were confirmed, and the Bookmakers have already narrowed it down to a five-horse race.
32 teams will be taking part in the finals next summer, and now we now every team who will be taking part after the final play-offs were played with the final spot going South American nation Peru, who beat New Zealand over two legs.
Some footballing powerhouses such as Italy and Holland have failed to make it, but Bookmakers already believe that the winner can be narrowed down to five nations.
“Defending champions Germany, Brazil and France are generally the co-favourites at 5/1 across the World Cup market,” revealed OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“Just after that around 7/1 and 8/1, come Spain and Argentina – after that you are well into double figures – the Bookmakers are not taking any chances here, these five are well clear in the betting and we are being told attracting the majority of the money.
“England are the only home nation involved and are in the second tier of sides at 20/1 but we expect some changes in the odds once the draw is made at the start of December – although we don’t think there will be too many changes with those big five at the head of the market.
“But if you are looking for the ‘Leicester City’ of the World Cup finals – then you need to look at Panama, they are 500/1 – more than double the next side.”
