Former Police detective Maggie Oliver has emerged as a strong favourite to win Celebrity Big Brother, after the show opened its doors on a fresh batch of ‘Celebrities’.
Oliver, the woman who is credited with dismantling the infamous grooming ring in Rochdale, is seen a hugely popular with the public – although some have questioned her description as a ‘Celebrity’.
But the Bookmakers clearly think she is the one to watch, after an initial all-female line-up was unveiled.
“We have seen the first contestants go in, and they are all female which is an interesting why for CBB to go, but it is clear Maggie Oliver is popular with the public and the Bookmakers have reacted – at 3/1 she is the clear favourite as it stand,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“As with many of these markets it is hard to predict and CBB is notorious for being volatile, just one comment can see a favourite plummet and with us not knowing much about Maggie – that could be something to look out for in the coming days.
“It is an interest line-up and clearly there is some value, especially before we see the first men enter – with former England international footballer John Barnes due in on Friday.”
Selected CBB odds:
Maggie Oliver 3/1
India Willoughby 8/1
Amanda Barrie 12/1
Ashley James 12/1
Jess Impiazzi 12/1
John Barnes 12/1
Rachel Johnson 12/1
Ann Widdecombe 16/1
Malika Haqq 25/1
