David Beckham has had something of Golden-touch when it comes to his footballing career, the latest avenue of which is to lead the formation of a new team in America, set in Miami.
The new MLS franchise has been given the go-ahead with Beckham at the helm, and he has already promised some big names.
And one of his first appointments for the as yet unnamed team, which will not kick-off until 2020 – will be his coach, and Bookmakers think he will keep it close to home.
“His close friends from United are in the betting, indeed his best friend Gary Neville is early favourite for the job – it didn’t work out for him at Valencia and clearly he is happy doing his media work but come 2020, he might be ready for a return to coaching,” revealed OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“Of his other United friends; Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Phill Neville – the new England Women’s side – and Beckham himself are all rated in the betting.
“And looking ahead to them getting in the pitch, we are expecting success – they are just 2/1 to win the MLS title within their first three seasons.
