Scottish Paralympian Libby Clegg has emerged as a real contender for the Dancing On Ice title.
Clegg was considered an outsider, but she wowed the judges and fans alike with her opening dance last week, scoring a first round high of 28 with her partner Mark Hanretty.
Now punters have been jumping in to back Libby, and her odds have crashed into 6/1 to win having been 20/1 before she took to the ice.
Libby is now third favourite behind Perri from Diversity and H from Steps – Ian Watkins, and she doesn’t appear to have an worries about going out early – but some others do not have that luxury.
Favourite to go this weekend is ITV news reader Lucrezia Millarini, who was involved in the skate-off last week and former football Kevin Kibane looks set to join her.
OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “We saw some impressive performances over the opening couple of weeks, but Libby Clegg was the big surprise, considered and outsider and she top-scored – which was a brilliant, so it is no shock to see her odds come right in.
“Libby is now into third favourite, behind Perri and Ian – but another big performance this weekend and she could be favourite by next week.
“The same can’t be said of Lucrezia and Kevin, who are firm favourites to be in the skate-off.”
