English glory in Europe? Bookmakers don’t see it

Bookmakers think it is more likely that both Liverpool and Arsenal will lose in the semi-finals of Europe, than progress to the final.

Liverpool face off against Roma, with the first-leg of their semi-final at Anfield – whilst Arsenal come up against Atletico Madrid in the Europa League last-four.

Neither are favourites to win and Bookmakers do not see a double European glory.

“It is not looking likely that we see double Premier League glory in Europe this summer,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton

“Liverpool are one of the favourites, and whilst they are expected to get to the final – the same can’t be said of Arsenal.

“Liverpool are generally around 2/1, which puts them as co-favourites with holders Real Madrid – who face Bayern Munich in second semi-final, but whoever wins that game will be favourite for the final.

“Arsenal are around 3/1 to win the Europa League, but their odds are drifting with many fancying Atletico to beat them and go and win the whole thing.

“It is 8/1 both English sides go out in the last-four, but it is double that they both lose in the final at 16/1 – whilst a double triumph is around 12/1.”

Selected European odds:
Liverool to win Champions League: 2/1
Arsenal to win Europa League 3/1
English European double 11/1
Both to lose in final 16/1
Both to lose in semi-finals 8/1
