Kirsty Wark has emerged as favourite to replace David Dimbleby on Question Time after he confirmed his departure from the programme.
Dimbleby has fronted the political debate show for 25-years but he has decided he will be leaving at the end of 2018.
Now Bookmakers have compiled their list of favourites and Newsnight’s Wark has emerged as the front-runner, ahead of the likes of BBC news anchor Huw Edwards, and political journalist Nick Robinson.
“This is a job that has not been available for over a life time, but under Dimbley’s stewardship it has developed into a BBC institution,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“Now it is fair to see a scramble is set to take place, but Wark is hugely respected and it is easy to see why she is favourite.”
