England’s fans are are starting to believe they could come back from Russia with more than just dented pride, and Bookmakers are beginning to fear Gareth Southgate’s boys.
England were only just in the top-ten fancies at the start of the tournament, but now after the first round of results – The Three Lions are generating lots of interest after their 2-1 win over Tunisia.
Having been as long as 18/1 at the start of the tournament, they are now into 10/1 only behind Brazil, Spain, France, Germany and Belgium – the only other fancied team to have won their first game.
“Bookmakers are starting to fear an England World Cup win, we are told that across the industry they are by far the biggest liability,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
