Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak has impressed hugely during the Coronavirus pandemic, and he is now odds-on to become Prime Minister in his career.
The 39-year-old has approved a series of packages to try and help stabilise the economy, and whilst Prime Minister Boris Johnson has received some negative press.
But, Sunak is being praised from all areas and it has not done his future prospects any harm at all.
Bookmakers now make him favourite to be the successor to Boris as Conservative Party Leader, now at 9/2 – some way ahead of ubiquitous Tory leadership candidate Michael Gove – who is 10/1.
Sunak – the current MP for Richmond in North Yorkshire – is odds-on to be PM at some point in his lifetime at 5/6, although he is just 6/4 to be axed by Boris too!
OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “Rishi Sunak is really looking like a star of the future, just weeks ago he moved into 11 Downing Street when he was appointed Chancellor and already he is being linked with the big move next door.
“Odds-on to be a Prime Minister, he is a star in the making for the Tory Party – and it is not surprise to see him firm favourite to be Boris Johnson’s successor.”
