Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is being linked with a move to the Premier League this summer.
The 32-year-old has 18-months left on his current contract but he has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave on a free transfer.
But his future has been called into question following a row with sporting director Eric Abidal, and reports have now suggested that he could be on the move.
Manchester City have been long-term admirers of the Argentine and are now rated as the most likely to grab Messi – should he decide to leave the Catalan giants.
OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “The rumours of Messi wanting to leave have been intense, but even if he were to leave there are only so many landing spots – one of those being City, who are favourites to be his next club at 2/1.
“Some even believe the Ronaldo-Messi axis, something we never thought could ever happen, could come to pass at Juventus and they are second favourites priced at 3/1.”
