Do the Love Islanders return to their jobs after hitting our TV screens? We have looked at the first Winter Love Island contestants and established that some can already rely on their new found fame.
Many previous contestants have found huge fame and fortune and we have looked to see if that will be the case in 2020.
We have looked at the earnings of the contestants – the average UK national wage for their job – and then taken their new Instagram followings and worked out their potential earnings from just one post, and the results are staggering.
Looking at our graphic you can see that Medical PA Sophie Piper, who was kicked out of the Villa after a couple of weeks of being in South Africa, would make here yearly wage after just seven posts.
Sophie’s new Instagram following is over 600,000 and that means she would earn over £2,500 – which means she would not take long to hit her annual salary of £18,335 – indeed posting a sponsored backed post on Instagram just once a day, and she would hit her target in a week.
And some others are just as likely to take advantage of their social media following and new found fame. Both Shaugna Phillips and Siannise Fudge, both still in the Villa, are garnering huge followings and they would hit their yearly salaries with just eight and nine posts respectively.
OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “It is always hard to know how the Love Islanders cope after leaving the Villa, but it is clear some of them have a new life and career ahead of them, leaving their once normal jobs behind them.”
Stats correct at time of writing week beginning February 10th
