The performances of England’s Premier League teams is encouraging Punters – who are getting behind them in numbers.
Bookmakers are moving quickly to start cutting the odds across the board on the Premier League teams, who have started in a dominant manner.
The Premier League’s current top-four of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham have started in excellent fashion – all claiming maximum points from their opening two games of the Champions League group stages.
Whilst Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain – who also have 100% records from the opening two games – remain clear favourites, the English sides are making an impression on the markets.
“Bookmakers are reacting, it is clear – the odds on all four teams are coming in – Man City are into 9/1, United 10/1, Chelsea 12/1 and Spurs 25/1 respectively,” revealed OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“Liverpool’s odds are the only ones which have not changed really, given two draws in the opening game – but even they are expected to progress through the group stages.
“Bookmakers are now quoting 5/2 on an English winner, and such is the form of the Premier League big guns, that does not look bad value at all.”
