Despite being handed the toughest draw in the League Cup quarter-finals, Manchester City remain firm favourites to win the first piece of silverware of the season.
City struggled to make the last eight having been taken to penalties at home by Championship Wolverhampton, but they have been handed the toughest draw – although the big four clubs remaining have been kept apart.
Carabao Cup Round Five Draw
Chelsea v AFC Bournemouth
Arsenal v West Ham
Leicester City v Manchester City
Bristol City v Manchester United
“City have been given an away tie at Leicester, and amongst the favourites they are the only ones to be given such a task, but despite this the Bookmakers are not opposing them,” revealed OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“This is really interesting, despite City’s struggles to get through and this tough looking draw, the Bookmakers just don’t want to tempt the Punters into getting behind Pep Guardiola’s men at all – like we have seen with the Premier League and Champions League odds, City’s impressive form has them running scared.
“United have come into second favourites at around 3/1, which is not a surprise given they have the only non-Premier League opposition left in the shape of Bristol City.
“Chelsea and Arsenal both face Premier League opposition at home, and it is clearly a four-horse race in the eyes of the Bookmakers.”
