Thinks seem to be going from bad to worse for Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, although Bookmakers don’t believe he will be able to call himself that for much longer.
The Italian appears to be on the brink of parting ways, some 18-months after he led the club to Premier League glory.
But pressures in the transfer market – combined with some less than impressive form, has seen Conte quickly become odds-on to be next Premier League manager to leave.
“Just a matter of weeks ago, Conte was around 14/1 to be next Premier League manager to go, since then things have really turned sour – he again bemoaned the transfer dealings of the clubs and performances have been way off the mark,” explained OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“Such is the extent of the money coming in for him, a number of Bookmakers have closed their market on this, whilst other available are around 1/5 which is over 80% probability.
“At the same time, markets are also available for next Chelsea boss – with former interim boss Guus Hiddink and ex-Barcelona coach Luis Enrique currently heading the betting at 3/1.”
Selected Chelsea odds:
Antonio Conte next Premier League manager to go – 1/5
Luis Enrique next Chelsea manager – 3/1
Guus Hiddink next Chelsea manager – 3/1
