Bookmakers have moved quickly to slash the odds on Everton manager Ronald Koeman being the next Premier League manager to lose his job.
Frank de Boer ‘won’ the sack race as he was first man out of the exit door at a top-flight club, just four games into the season.
After de Boer, West Ham’s Slaven Bilic was the favourite, but suddenly Koeman is now the clear favourite after a poor start to the new season, which sees them in the bottom three and with just one win from their opening five games.
With reports of pressure growing on Koeman, his odds are now just 15/8 to be next to depart.
“The change in this market has happened so quickly, ” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“He was more than 10/1 not long ago, and wasn’t really in the thinking to be at the top of this market but pressure is clearly mounting on him.
“Punters have reacted and the Bookmakers have quickly moved him, again and again – which now sees him at 15/8 across the board – defeat to Bournemouth this weekend, and 15/8 might not be too bad a price as it certainly won’t be that if they do lose.”
Next Premier League manager to go odds:
Ronald Koeman 15/8 (Ladbrokes)
Slaven Bilic 3/1 (BetVictor)
Eddie Howe 10/1 (Coral)
Rafa Benitez 10/1 (WilliamHill)
Mauricio Pellegrino 12/1 (Betway)
