Lionel Messi is now refusing to talk about his future, and Bookmakers are starting to react.
Similar to when noises emerged from Spain about Neymar moving – could it happen again with their prized asset?
Bookmakers are now cutting the odds on Messi moving in January, as at this moment in time he would be allowed to sign a pre-contract in the New Year with a club such as Manchester City as his current deal at Barcelona expires in the summer.
“Whilst Messi’s new deal remains unsigned, it is only natural that the odds will start to come in with Manchester City the clear favourites to land him,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“At 16/1 clearly the Bookmakers don’t think he is going at this stage – but the fact he has come in so much in recent days shows the Punters are sniffing.
“If we get January, and no new deal is signed – his odds will come down further, that is for sure.”
Lionel Messi odds to move in January:
Man City 16/1
Chelsea 33/1
Any Chinese Club 40/1
Juventus 50/1
PSG 50/1
Man Utd 66/1
Any MLS Club 100/1
Real Madrid 100/1
