The odds on Antonio Conte leaving Chelsea have been slashed with Bookmakers firmly believing his tenure does not have long to last.
Despite guiding Chelsea to Premier League glory last term – they have looked nowhere as good this season and is the pressure is clearly mounting with Conte bemoaning his position at the club, and particularly what he perceives as their failures in the transfer market.
The midweek 3-0 capitulation at home to Bournemouth, only added fuel to the flames of speculation.
“Antonio Conte has been having to field questions about his future, and the Bookmakers just don’t see him in charge of Chelsea next season, it is1/10 on him not being with the club at the start of next term, that is a 90% probability,” explained OddsMonkey spokesman Pete Watton.
“With replacements already being linked, it is easy to see Chelsea changing things and he is now odds-on at 1/2 to be sacked this season, it really is not looking good for Conte – the public are backing against him and the Bookmakers are reporting a lot of money on him to go – he has been backed down to around 5/2 favourite to be next Premier League boss to go this season.
“Legendary Dutch coach Guus Hiddink has already had two spells as caretaker and for him to be brought in again this year is just 5/1.”
Selected odds on Antonie Conte and Chelsea:
Conte to be sacked before the end of the season – 1/2
Conte to be sacked before the start of the 2018/19 season – 1/10
Conte to be next manager sacked by a Premier League club – 5/2
Chelsea to reinstate Hiddink as interim manager until the end of 2017/18 season – 5/1
