Jose Mourinho has suggested he wants to emulate Sir Alex Ferguson and stay with Manchester United until he is 70, but Bookmakers are not convinced.
The 54-year-old has suggested he could stay for another 15-years at Old Trafford – having completed his first season with United.
Mourinho, though, has never completed more than three-years with any club during his glittering career which has seen him manage the likes of Porto, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Chelsea and now United.
OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton admits the Bookmakers are not swallowing Mourinho’s rhetoric.
“For a market like this when you are backing in the long-term, you have to do some homework and on this subject it is hard to see how Mourinho could buck the trend set in his entire career to date,” said Watton.
“If we look at the odds on Mourinho, we can see PaddyPower will offer you 7/1 on him making it to 2025. He is odds on to see it the job until 2019 with odds of 1/2 but after that they are drifting somewhat.
“Only time will tell, but certainly the odds suggest that not many people can see Jose emulating Sir Alex at this stage.”
