All you can hear around England at the moment is ‘It’s Coming Home’ and because of this, the iconic song it comes from is heading back into the charts.
Indeed, Bookmakers believe that Three Lions by The Lightning Seeds & Baddiel and Skinner could return to number one.
The official Chart Company has confirmed that it will be in the top-40 by this weekend ahead of the quarter-final with Sweden.
The Three Lions was originally released for the European Championships in 1996, at which point it made number one – before being re-released for the World Cup in 1998, when it again made number one.
Now sales have seen it roar back into the charts and as long as England stay in the tournament, the higher it is likely to go.
“The Bookmakers have slashed the price on Baddiel & Skinner hitting top-spot again, and it is now just 11/10,” revealed OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“The nation is again getting behind England and this song is again the anthem football fans have adopted, so it would not be a huge shock to see it at number one.”
