Harry Kane is a short price favourite to retain the Golden Boot next season, but at 10/3 – is there big value elsewhere? OddsMonkey certainly believe so.
Kane is looking to become only the third player in history to finish as top-scorer in the Premier League three times, with Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry the previous two to accomplish that feat.
Now Kane across the board is favoured by the Bookmakers, indeed once you get past Romelu Lukaku (9/2) and Sergio Aguero (6/1) – it is generally nearly 10/1 the field.
“It is a big ask for Kane to do this three years in-a-row, it really is – and then look at Aguero, are he and Gabriel Jesus going to get enough games to finish on top and what if Alexis Sanchez joins them – we think the two City players are looking quite short if you look closely,” explained OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.
“Romelu Lukaku needs to settle quickly at Manchester United too, and if he doesn’t there are some real value options elsewhere.
“We can see some very generous odds – especially for the new boy – look at Chelsea and Arsenal’s new record signings Alvaro Morata and Alexandre Lacazette, at 10/1 and 12/1 respectively, considering the odds of the market leaders, this looks very good value at this stage.”
