Tiger Woods

Will Tiger come roaring back in 2018?

A busy sporting week, but as one of the biggest names in golfing history – Tiger Woods is still capable of making the sporting world, and the Bookmakers, sit-up and take notice.

After a series of back problems, Woods insists he is back to full fitness and he proved that with a top-ten finish at the Hero World Challenge event before Christmas.

Now he is set to compete in the Farmers Insurance Open – his first full field PGA event since 2015, and despite his lengthy absence from the tour, he is amongst the favourites for the event.

Such is his popularity, Bookmakers are already running a bit scared and a reporting a host of money coming in for Woods, covering a range of markets.

“Whilst Tiger may not win this weekend,  he is being backed to feature at 20/1 and is odds-on to make the cut,” said OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton.

“However, the interest odds are for what he will do this season – for instance can he win a 15th major? Well currently he is 6/1 – but we have been told if he shows any sort of form even as early as this weekend, then that will become a lot shorter very quickly.

“He is now 22/1 for the opening major, The Masters – but he was close to 100/1 for that before his re-appearance in the Bahamas in December.”

Selected Tiger Woods odds:
To win 15th major in 2018 – 6/1
To win The Masters – 22/1
To win on return at Farmers Insurance Open – 20/1
